60 years PCI

Creative

In 1950 the engineer Karl Strehle and the businessman Hans W. Schulz founded the company Poly-Chemie-Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH. Their objective: Producing and distributing synthetic polymers for the construction industry as well as a consulting service concerning questions related to chemistry and technology. One year later the company entered the market with its new innovation: a concrete emulsion.

It only took another four years to build up a product range of 54 products. But the success story began in 1959 when the cementitious tile adhesive PCI FT-Klebemörtel was first launched onto the market. In the following years PCI, the name of the company since 1961, concentrated on the development of flexible mortars. PCI soon offered a comprehensive and innovative tile laying system. Since the market launch of the first pulverised highly flexible special tile adhesive PCI took on the leadership in the market in this segment. At the same time new business fields opened up: The development and production of sealants in the sixties as well as bedding materials with waterproofing function in the seventies.

The success of PCI on the market is and always was a history of continuous innovation, even today, as the latest product innovations like the dust and emission reduced tile adhesive PCI Nanolight show.

“Innovative products were and remain the most important trademark of PCI.”
