NEW: PCI Pavifix 1K Extra
The “Extra” in the name of the new joint grout for pavements PCI Pavifix 1K Extra stands for its expanded field of application: besides natural stone areas it also comprises flagstones or pavers made of artificial stone.
Optimally suitable fields of application for PCI Pavifix 1K Extra are ground level areas exposed to foot and occasional vehicular traffic such as private parking lots, garden paths, garage entrances and terraces. The respective substructure must be water permeable, the minimum joint width 3 mm. The surfaces and joint sides of the flagstones or pavers must be thoroughly prewet before grouting. Avoid water collecting in the joints. The one-part ready-to-use sand mix can be easily applied and compacted with a rubber float. PCI Pavifix 1K Extra can also be applied by using water making it much easier to fill narrow joints. The grout cures without cracking and sets without shrinking giving the surface a uniform look. If the joints are filled with the dry sand mix the area is walkable after approx. 24 hours, if filling the joints is supported by means of water the area is walkable after approx. 30 hours. Depending on the environmental conditions the area is able to bear weight after three to seven days.
The surfaces are not completely sealed, for water from rain and cleaning quickly trickles into the substrate. The joints are wear-proof and permanently resistant to weathering, frost and de-icing salt. The surfaces grouted with PCI Pavifix 1K Extra can be cleaned with high-pressure cleaners without any problems, the cured material will not be washed out.
