PCI Augsburg GmbH, a subsidiary of Sika Germany, is launching a new product: PCI Barraseal Turbo 1K, a one-component reactive waterproofing membrane particularly well suited for surface protection (OS 5b), chloride protection, and general waterproofing applications. At the same time, the well-established PCI Barraseal Turbo is now available in a new, improved formulation that makes it even easier to apply and smooth out. Both reactive waterproofing products stand out for their excellent workability.
The proven PCI Barraseal Turbo, a flexible 2-component reactive waterproofing membrane, is now available with enhanced application properties. This all-rounder is ideal for waterproofing below-grade components in both new-build and refurbishment projects. It offers surface, base, and horizontal waterproofing (in accordance with DIN 18533) – and can also be used for bonding drainage and insulation boards.
With its improved formulation, PCI Barraseal Turbo is now even easier to apply and smooth out – enabling efficient application with minimal effort. The optimized resistance ensures good shape stability and prevents slumping. Its crack-bridging capability has been optimized to ≥ 4 mm, offering maximum protection against substrate cracks that may appear over time. Additionally, the reduced CO₂ footprint, thanks to the improved formulation, enables climate-friendly waterproofing without compromising on performance or ease of use.
The newly developed PCI Barraseal Turbo 1K, a single-component reactive waterproofing membrane, is particularly suitable for surface protection (OS 5b), chloride protection, and waterproofing of reinforced concrete surfaces (as per EN 1504-2). It can also be used as a building waterproofing system for both new and existing structures.
PCI Barraseal Turbo 1K is very easy to work with. Its creamy consistency allows for effortless spreading and smoothing, resulting in perfect surface finishes. It can be applied by spray equipment, and its low consumption makes it particularly efficient for large surface areas.
As a single-component system, it only needs to be mixed with water, saving time and reducing mixing errors. And since it comes in a single packaging unit, disposal is easier and less costly.
Storage offers clear advantages for both contractors and building material distributors. PCI Barraseal Turbo 1K is frost-resistant, maintaining its quality without risk of damage. Compared to traditional bucket packaging, more material can be stacked per pallet, reducing storage requirements both on the job site and in warehouses. Additionally, more material can be transported per truckload contributing to lower CO₂ emissions during transportation.
