Sika Expands Production at Wittenberg Site
Sika Deutschland CH AG & Co KG is set to further strengthen its Wittenberg site as a key production facility. To support this strategic focus, the company will relocate shipping operations to its logistics centers in Augsburg and Hamm. In addition to its current product range, the Wittenberg plant will begin manufacturing Sika injection resins (Sika Inject), which are used in structural waterproofing and concrete repair applications.
Sika Deutschland CH AG & Co KG is implementing organizational changes at its site in Lutherstadt Wittenberg and will increasingly position the facility as a dedicated production hub. Currently, the plant manufactures a wide range of products distributed under several well-known brands, including THOMSIT SMP parquet adhesives, silicone sealants (e.g., PCI Silcofug), bitumen-based waterproofing compounds such as PCI Pecimor and PCI Barraseal Turbo, as well as reactive resins (e.g., PCI Durapox Premium and Premium Multicolor). These product lines will continue to be produced at the site.

As part of the site’s expanded role, the Wittenberg facility has now also begun producing Sika injection resins (Sika Inject), which are used for structural waterproofing, building maintenance, and concrete repair. These high-performance products play a vital role in infrastructure preservation and are expected to see increasing demand—particularly in connection with national infrastructure programs focused on the renovation of aging motorway bridges and other critical structures.

To facilitate this production expansion, Sika will relocate shipping operations for its commercial business from Wittenberg to its logistics centers in Augsburg and Hamm, effective 1 July 2025.

“With the additional production volume now coming from Wittenberg, we are strengthening and securing the future of this site,” said Frank Rösiger, Head of Operations at Sika Deutschland. “By relocating shipping operations, we can dedicate the plant’s full capacity to expanded manufacturing.”

Commissioned in 1991, the Wittenberg facility primarily produces dry mortars, reactive resins, bituminous products, and sealants, and currently employs approximately 150 people
