Our Road to Net Zero
Sustainability is a strategic focus area within the Sika Group.
Sika supports the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). The company's emission reduction targets are aligned with the goals of the Paris Agreement.
Sika has committed to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. Net zero refers to reducing greenhouse gas emissions through a range of measures across the value chain, rather than relying primarily on carbon offsetting.
Sika's emission reduction targets for Scopes 1, 2 and 3 were validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) in May 2024.

Resources & Recycling
Resource efficiency and recycling are considered throughout various stages of the value chain, from product development and manufacturing to packaging. PCI Augsburg GmbH follows the Responsible Care® management system and takes environmental aspects into account when selecting raw materials and packaging materials.
Approximately 5% of the raw materials used originate from recycled or renewable sources, while around 55% are derived from mineral resources.
PCI Augsburg GmbH also implements measures to increase the use of recycled and renewable materials in product packaging. The paper used for paper bags is sourced from renewable raw materials from sustainably managed forests. In addition, approximately 200 tonnes of plastic packaging are manufactured from recycled materials.
Recycling processes are also used at the production sites in Augsburg, Wittenberg and Hamm. Approximately 84% of production waste, primarily powder-based materials, is recycled and reused, for example in the production of concrete blocks or as backfilling material in mining operations. This corresponds to around 205 tonnes per year.
