Live demonstration proves double coverage of PCI Flexmörtel Light
New product with light filler technology for less weight and more coverage

With a video of a live demonstration, PCI, a Sika company in Germany, provides proof that the PCI Flexmörtel Light introduced in February achieves twice the coverage in a 12.5 kg sack compared with conventional tile adhesives in 25 kg sacks. The new multi-purpose product also stands out thanks to its especially convenient processing properties – it can be applied easily with little force and has a smooth, workable consistency.
Following the market launch of the new lightweight adhesive PCI Flexmörtel Light, PCI has now released a video demonstrating the key message “half the weight – twice the range” under real-life conditions. Two tilers simultaneously process a 12.5 kg sack of PCI Flexmörtel Light and a 25 kg sack of a standard tile adhesive. The result: after mixing and application, the tiler using the 12.5 kg sack of PCI Flexmörtel Light covers the same area and achieves the same yield as the tiler working with a standard tile adhesive in a 25 kg sack. Another advantage is the faster and easier application of PCI Flexmörtel Light. This saves effort and time while reducing strain on the back and joints.
In addition to the high yield, tradespeople benefit from the especially convenient processing properties of the multi-purpose lightweight adhesive: a smooth, creamy consistency, easy application and at the same time high stability and very good non-sag properties. The open time is very long, at about three hours, allowing flexible and comfortable working, and the surface can be walked on and grouted the next day.
PCI Flexmörtel Light is a low-dust, CO2-reduced tile adhesive and is classed as a very low-emission product with the EC1 Plus seal of approval. It therefore contributes to healthy living and environmental compatibility.
In addition, PCI provides the new consumption table “Cementitious PCI Tile Adhesives”. It offers a transparent overview of consumption values and coverage of all cementitious PCI tile adhesives in square meters, depending on the notched trowel used.
