The self-adhesive system panels creates comfort zone to 80 square meters

Products used

To attain higher comfort levels in the living room and kitchen, Froitzheim Bauen & Planen GmbH installed the Roth ClimaComfort compact thin-layer heating system in a single-family home in Mönchengladbach, covering a total area of 80 square metres. This system is ideally suited for renovation projects, as it can be easily laid on existing screeds. What's more, its low installation height ensures reaction times are extremely quick, transforming floors and walls in new or old buildings alike into energy-efficient comfort zones. The old marble flooring in the rooms was removed first and the cleaned concrete primed using PCI Gisogrund 404. Once a film had formed on the primer, PCI Periplan Extra levelling compound was used for laying the foundation for the new floor. The PCI Pecidur hard-foam supporting elements were then laid across the entire surface using PCI Rapidflott. The self-adhesive Roth ClimaComfort system panels grip perfectly on these. The system panels hold the Roth ClimaComfort S5 system pipe, which is 10.5 mm in diameter, and fix it in position. Once the heat distribution system was fully installed in seven heating circuits, the flooring experts levelled the entire surface in just 2 hours using the fibre-reinforced floor levelling compound PCI Periplan Extra. A day later functional heating, as specified by Roth, could be started. After the grout had cooled down, experts from Fliesen Gerressen GmbH laid the large-format stoneware tiles supplied by Villeroy & Boch. The tile adhesive used was PCI Nanoflott light - a light, non-sag flowable adhesive. The flexible joint grout PCI Nanofug, which is suitable for joint widths of between 1 and 10 mm as well as for ceramic flooring, was chosen due to the change in temperature caused by the underfloor heating. The light-grey colour tone chosen fitted in perfectly with the tile flooring.
