Rietberg, located south of Gütersloh, has one more attraction now since the opening of the 4 star hotel Lind last autumn. The historic old town of Rietberg documented for the first time in 851 and having received its town charter in 1289 was formed by its historical past as county residence and state capital. The town of Rietberg attracts visitors because of its high number of existing timber frame constructed houses nicely restored or because the big nature reserves in the environment invite for a walk and bike tours. Another attraction this year is the national garden festival in Rietberg.

The Hotel Lind an der Ems, so its official name, will now indulge private travellers as well as businessmen and guests from the regional industry by first-class service, stylish furnishing and good cuisine. Such a concept is not possible without a spa oasis and that’s how the „Lind vital“ was created from July till September 2007. The hotel brochure describes it as professional frame for sports activities and regeneration and refers to four saunas, various fitness and recreation centres as well as a comprehensive range of health rehabs.
